Q: How do I apply an armor trim?

A: You need a Smithing Table. Place your Smithing Template in the left slot, the armor piece in the middle slot, and your chosen color material in the right slot.

Q: Can I remove or change an armor trim?

A: No. Once a trim is applied, it is permanent. However, you can overwrite an existing trim by putting the armor back into a Smithing Table with a new template and material.

Q: Do armor trims add any special stats or powers?

A: No. Armor trims are purely cosmetic. They change how your character looks but do not add defense, speed, or special abilities.

Q: Can you trim leather or chainmail armor?

A: Yes! You can trim Leather, Chainmail, Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite armor. You can even trim Turtle Shell helmets.

Q: Can you use the same material as the armor base?

A: Yes, but it looks slightly different. For example, putting a Diamond trim on Diamond armor creates a darker, subtle matching effect rather than a bright contrast.

Q: How do I get more of a template without finding another structure?

A: You can duplicate any template using a Crafting Table. You will need 1 existing Smithing Template, 7 Diamonds, and 1 block of the specific material that matches that template (like Netherrack for the Netherite Upgrade, or Cobblestone for the Coast Trim).
